Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti

Swami Dayananda Saraswati, a renowned social and religious reformer, was born on February 12, 1824, in Tankara, Gujarat. He was a prominent Hindu religious leader and a Vedic scholar, fully devoted to God. To make Vedic knowledge accessible to the common people, he translated the Vedas from Vedic Sanskrit into Sanskrit and Hindi.

He founded the Arya Samaj on April 7, 1875, aiming to promote Vedic teachings and social reforms. Some of his major works include Satyarth Prakash, Sanskarvidhi, and Rigved Bhashyam.

Swami Dayananda Saraswati was assassinated on December 23, 1883, by a person named Jagannath.
