Dandi March

The Dandi March (Salt March) was a non-violent protest led by Mahatma Gandhi against the British salt tax. It started on March 12, 1930, from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, Gujarat (240 miles). On April 6, 1930, Gandhi broke the salt law by making salt from seawater, inspiring mass civil disobedience across India. This event was a major step in India’s freedom movement, showcasing the power of non-violence (Satyagraha).
