World Sanskrit Day

Language is important in our lives, whether we use it to communicate or read literal texts or to study about our culture. It is very essential. Sanskrit is one such language. Even though it is an ancient language, it is still very relevant today and spread it’s importance we observe World Sanskrit Day.

World Sanskrit Day, also known as Sanskrit Diwas, is observed every year on Shravana Purnima, which is the full moon day in the Hindu month of Shravana. This year it will be celebrated on 12th August.

The day is observed to increase the significance of our mother tongue, Sanskrit.
It not only promotes but also revitalises Sanskrit, India’s ancient language. It is an old Indo-Aryan language. It is now recognised as a language with a scientific structure that is in high demand worldwide.
