हयग्रीव जयंती क्यों मनाते है ?

भगवान विष्णु ने सृष्टि और मानव के कल्याण के लिए कई अवतार लिए, जिनमें से एक रहस्यमयी अवतार हयग्रीव का है। इस अवतार में उनका सिर घोड़े का था और शरीर मनुष्यों की तरह। यह अवतार विशेष रूप से उस समय लिया गया जब दो राक्षस, मदु और कैतभा, ब्रह्मा से वेदों की चोरी कर लेते हैं। तब विष्णु इसी रूप में प्रकट होकर वेदों को वापस लाते हैं और ज्ञान का प्रतीक बनते हैं। यह अवतार ज्ञान और सच्चाई की जीत का प्रतीक है। इस बार हयग्रीव जयंती 8 अगस्त 2025 को मनाई जाएगी। इस दिन विशेष रूप से ब्राह्मण समुदाय में जनेऊ बदलने की परंपरा भी निभाई जाती है।

Why we celebrate Hayagriv Jayanti ?

Lord Vishnu has incarnated in various forms for the welfare of creation, and one of the most mysterious is the Hayagriva avatar. In this form, he has the head of a horse and the body of a human. This avatar appears when two demons, Madhu and Kaitabha, steal the Vedas from Brahma. Vishnu, in the Hayagriva form, rescues the Vedas and restores divine wisdom. This incarnation symbolizes the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. This year, Hayagriva Jayanti is being observed on 8 August 2025. On this day, the Brahmin community also observes the ritual of changing the sacred thread (Janeu).
