Sharad Purnima, also known as Kojagiri Purnima, is a Hindu festival celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin, marking the end of the monsoon season. It is considered an auspicious night dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. People observe fasting, prepare special milk and rice delicacies like kheer, and offer them to the moon, believing that the moonlight on this night has healing and nourishing properties. The festival also symbolizes joy, harvest, and the arrival of autumn, bringing communities together for prayers and festive gatherings.
