Importance Of Aja Ekadashi

Aja Ekadashi, observed on the 11th day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada, holds great spiritual significance in Hinduism. Devotees observe this fast to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu, as it is believed to destroy past sins, grant peace, prosperity, and ultimately lead to moksha (liberation). Scriptures mention that even listening to the story of this vrat brings merit. The famous legend of King Harishchandra, who regained his kingdom and son by observing Aja Ekadashi, highlights its power. On this day, devotees worship Lord Vishnu with prayers, bhajans, and scriptures, dedicating themselves to purity, devotion, and spiritual upliftment.

अजा एकादशी, भाद्रपद मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की एकादशी तिथि को मनाई जाती है। इस व्रत का विशेष महत्व है क्योंकि इसे करने से पाप नष्ट होते हैं, शांति, समृद्धि की प्राप्ति होती है और मोक्ष की प्राप्ति का मार्ग प्रशस्त होता है। पुराणों के अनुसार केवल इसकी कथा सुनने मात्र से भी पुण्य फल प्राप्त होता है। राजा हरिश्चंद्र ने इसी व्रत के प्रभाव से अपना राज्य और पुत्र पुनः प्राप्त किया था। इस दिन भक्तजन भगवान विष्णु की पूजा-अर्चना, भजन-कीर्तन और शास्त्र पाठ कर स्वयं को भक्ति और आत्मशुद्धि के मार्ग पर समर्पित करते हैं।
