National Vaccination Day also known as National Immunization Day is celebrated every year on 16th March, on this very day in 1995 the first dose of Oral Polio Vaccine was administered in India for the first time. The day marks India’s victory over the polio disease.

The day is celebrated to express the importance of vaccination and its role in public health. Vaccination or immunization is an essential part of keeping our citizens safe from highly infectious diseases.
