The World Science Day for Peace and Development celebrates the benefits that science has provided for humankind. The day is observed on 10th November. The day was established by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2001.
The Day emphasises the importance of science in society and the necessity of including the general public in discussions of existing scientific problems. It emphasises the value and applicability of science in everyday life.
The Day also aims to ensure that people are continuously informed of scientific advancements by closer integrating science and society. It also highlights the important role scientists play in deepening our understanding of the beautiful, delicate planet we call home and improving the sustainability of our society.
Let us keep working towards the development of our society by contributing in the field of science and show gratitude to our scientists for their hard work and efforts which they put for us.
