“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
– Mother Teresa

Every year on June 8th, World Ocean Day is observed to raise public awareness about the importance of oceans, which are home to millions of species and marine life. The United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Brazil in 1992 adopted a resolution designating June 8th as World Ocean Day.

The day encourages people all over the world to share their thoughts on issues affecting ocean life. It also inspires people to take concrete action at the individual and community levels to make a difference in terms of ocean preservation and conservation.

To celebrate World Ocean Day, countries around the world hold a variety of events such as lectures, discussions, seminars and nature talks to raise awareness about oceans and its safety.
