“Donate your blood for a reason, let the reason to be life.”

Safe blood and blood products, as well as their transfusion, are essential components of care and public health. Every day, they save millions of lives and improve the health and quality of life of many patients. Although there is a universal need for blood, not everyone has access to it. Blood scarcity is especially acute in developing countries.

Every year on 14th June, World Blood Donor Day is observed. The goal is to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion, as well as the critical role that voluntary, unpaid blood donors play in national health systems.

The day also serves as an opportunity to urge governments and national health authorities to take action to adequately resource and implement systems and infrastructure to increase blood collection from blood donors. Unpaid and volunteer work. To ensure that safe blood is available to all who need it, all countries require voluntary, unpaid blood donors who donate blood on a regular basis.
