“Life is like a 10-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use.”
– Charles M. Schultz
Bicycling is good for both physical and mental health, as well as for the environment and the economy. Cycling is an excellent workout that also keeps you active. It aids in the development of a healthy lifestyle.
The United Nations General Assembly designated 3rd June as World Bicycle Day, recognising the uniqueness, durability and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for over two centuries.
The purpose of the day is to encourage stakeholders to understand, emphasise and promote the use of bicycles in cultivating sustainable development, strengthening education for children and young people, promoting health, preventing diseases, facilitating social inclusion, cultivating a culture of peace and so on.
Cycling is a kind of aerobic activity in which the heart, blood vessels and lungs all get a workout. It increases the overall fitness level by experiencing increased body temperature through cycling.
