“Liberty consists in doing what one desires”
– John Stuart Mill
Philosophy has influenced the way people live their lives, govern their governments, follow their religions, and engage with their communities ever since the beginning of civilised human activity.
Every year, the third Thursday of November is celebrated as World Philosophy Day. This year it will be celebrated on 17 November, 2022. The Day strives to promote a healthy, intellectual debate that honours individual differences and human dignity on a global scale.
The goal is to increase people’s commitment to philosophy and increase understanding of the value of philosophical thoughts into significant contemporary situations. The initiative aims to encourage research, the exchange of innovative thinking, and the discussion of social issues and philosophical insights.
