Every year National Voters Day is celebrated on 25th January as the Election Commission of India (ECI) which came into existence on this day in 1950. The day was first celebrated in 2011 to encourage young voters to participate in the electoral process. There is no doubt that it is a day to celebrate the right to vote as well as democracy in India. The main objective of the Election Commission is to increase the enrollment of voters, especially the ones who are eligible.

Every year the National Voters’ Day is celebrated in New Delhi with the President of India as the chief guest. The celebration begins with the welcome speech, various cultural events are organized such as folk dances, plays, music, painting competition on different topics etc. So utilise your freedom to vote and use your right wisely.
