Baisakhi is a Hindu and Sikh festival. It is celebrated every year on 13th or 14th April. It marks the beginning of Sikh New Year and also celebrates the formation of the Khalsa Panth of warriors under the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.The day also marks the harvesting of Rabi Crops.

On this day people dress in colorful clothes and visit Gurudwara to pray. Sikh community organises langars and provide food to everyone. Regional fairs are organized in communities and people enjoy Punjabi cuisine at stalls. They perform folk dances such as Giddha and Bhangra and enjoys the festival with their family and friends. It is a day which is celebrated with happiness and enthusiasm.
