Every year on 1st December Border Security Force Foundation Day is celebrated. The BSF is a paramilitary BSF organization entrusted with maintaining peaceful border security along India’s land border with Pakistan and Bangladesh and fighting international crime. BSF has been termed as the First Line of Defence of Indian Territories.

The Border Security Force was founded on 1 December 1965 as per the recommendation of the Committee of Secretaries. Along with guarding India’s borders, it also helps in the rescue operations at the time of natural disasters. Soldiers are also sent for UN missions.

It has specialized battalions for dealing with NBC calamities, which include all other forms of disasters. We are proud to have soldiers who are unconditionally fighting and guarding our country.
