National Science Day is celebrated annually for the contribution of the great Indian physicist C V Raman to the field of science and technology. His discovery is known as “The Raman Effect” to the world.

Dr. C.V Raman was awarded the “Nobel Peace Prize” in 1930. On March 16, 1928 he announced his greatest discovery of the spectrum of light passing through a prism. This discovery became known to the whole world.
