It was commemorated on 22 April, 1970. US Senator Gaylord Nelson started Earth Day. It is the day dedicated to protecting the mother earth. People organizes events, rallies, concerts and different projects to show their support for environmental protection. All people, wealthy, poor, sportsmen, businessmen, farmers, athletes, etc., took part in the event and committed to protecting Earth.
