On December 9, the world celebrates International Anti-Corruption Day to promote awareness of the value of a society free from corruption. We may use this day to reaffirm our commitment to working together to prevent and curb corruption. It is observed globally by the United Nations and promotes a global campaign against corruption to preserve sustainable development.

The primary goal of the day is to eradicate corruption in order to pave the road for a strong society everywhere. Numerous events, including conferences, lectures, and plays, are held by the UN as well as its various member states with the goal of fighting corruption.

Corruption is the abuse of power for personal gain and can take various forms. Corruption is dishonest or fraudulent behaviour by those in positions of authority, usually involving bribery. It eats away society’s core. It robs people of their freedom, health, wealth, and sometimes even their lives. Hence, let us work together and stop corruption.
