Guru Nanak Jayanti is often referred to as Gurpurab. It is the most sacred festival of sikhism. He was the first Guru and a great spiritual teacher. The day falls on the full moon night of Purnima. This year it will be celebrated on 8th November.
They listen to Gurbani after taking a holy bath in the morning. Shabad Kirtan are held in Gurudwaras. Langars are organised and the prashad is served to the people. The devotees celebrate this festival with enthusiasm and joy.
