On this day, people frequently purchase utensils, gold, silver, vehicles, and other things. 

On the occasion of Dhanteras, stores and markets are extremely crowded. On this day, worshippers honour the goddesses Laxmi and Dhanvantari. Homes are cleaned and decorated for the preparation of this festival.
