Baba Saheb Ambedkar, also known as Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, was born in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, India, on April 14, 1891. He was a brilliant student who earned doctorates from Columbia University of London and London University. His legal, economic, and political science research helped him establish a solid academic reputation. He worked as an editor, economist, professor, and activist early in his career while opposing the caste-based discrimination Dalits experienced. Later in his life, he got involved in politics.

Ramji Makoji Sakpal, his father, served as an army officer in the British Indian Army. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was his father’s fourteenth child. His mother’s name was Bhimabai Sakpal. His family originated in the Marathi town of Ambawade. He was classified as an untouchable since he was born a Dalit. He frequently faced social and financial discrimination.

He participated in the negotiations and campaigns for India’s independence. He was appointed as head of the constitution-writing committee for India after Independence. He is credited for creating India’s constitution as the country’s first minister of law and justice following India’s independence. He converted to Buddhism in 1956, which led to a widespread conversion of Dalits. He had diabetes in 1948. On December 6, 1956, at his home, he died in his sleep after battling diabetes for over seven years.

We remember how Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar made a significant contribution to society. Dalits treat him as their god. Because he helped them a lot. His main contribution was to help Dalits achieve equal power, status, and respect in society as others. Dr. Ambedkar is an incredibly influential leader in Indian history.
